Velocity Sports

Have you ever contemplated what you could accomplish if you had the same training as the pros? Velocity Sports Performance makes it possible for anyone to train with world-class professionals, allowing people of all skill sets and ages to achieve their athletic dreams. With locations now around the country, the idea for Velocity Sports Performance came from Loren Seagrave, a world-renowned speed and sports performance coach, as well as a Richmond native. Velocity Sports Performance utilizes a video analysis system, one-on-one meetings and state-of-the-art facilities to help you realize your potential. And whether that goal is trimming your waistline or making your college football team, Velocity Sports actually guarantees results. Having trained Mike Montgomery of the Green Bay Packers, World Record champion runner Milton Campbell, and the entire 2002 U.S. Olympic Bobsled team, Seagrave chose his hometown of Richmond to open a “body shop” branch in May 2004. After two years of operation in  Henrico County, Velocity Sports Performance is scoring major points with area athletes.

U-Turn Sports Performance Academy
Guiding the bodies, minds and souls of area athletes

Begun as an inner-city youth tennis ministry in the summer of 1992, U-Turn Sports Performance now helps over 1,000 athletes annually, with training in basketball, tennis, and volleyball, as well as speed, agility, quickness and strength training. Founder and President, Paul A. Manning started the program, which was incorporated as a non-profit company in April of 1996. Using both athletic and spiritual guidance as essential building blocks, Manning explains that U-Turn looks to “mentor kids in such a way that, even at a young age, they will desire to live a life marked by excellence, significance and service to others.” U-Turn has found marked success in Richmond and is in the process of growing. They recently purchased the former Circuit City Headquarters on Thalbro Street.
