To the benefit of Henrico County, LandAmerica brings years of successful business practices, and, equally important, years of social responsibility. “The organization is universally respected by the business community as a solid leader by virtue of its ethical standards, continued health and growth, and the financial resources it draws into the city, state and region. As one of the oldest organizations in Richmond, LandAmerica and its predecessor Lawyers Title have come to represent continuity not only as an employer but also as a participant in the economic, cultural and social fabric of the community,” said Agostino. In short, LandAmerica uses its 800+ employees in the Richmond area to actively demonstrate its Guiding Principle of corporate citizenship throughout the community.
LandAmerica organizes its community involvement through the LandAmerica Foundation. This foundation is committed to giving generously to charitable organizations connected to the housing sector, economic development and charities in which an employee holds a position of leadership. “The housing sector is of particular importance to us because it’s the area where we earn our revenue, and accordingly, we feel a responsibility to contribute to its stability and growth,” states Helen Parham, Vice President – Corporate Relations. Generally, 60 percent of the Foundation’s awards take the shape of corporate grants to qualified tax-exempt organizations throughout the country. Matching gifts, which allow full-time, salaried employees to maximize their financial support of charitable organizations, cover the remaining 40 percent of total gifts.
The following charitable organizations, which serve residents of Henrico County and the Greater Richmond area, have benefited from the LandAmerica Foundation:

The long history of success at LandAmerica has always been a direct result of quality personnel. LandAmerica’s Human Resources team reinforces the company’s heritage by recruiting employees who align themselves with the firm’s Guiding Principles regarding personal values, drive for excellence and management practices. “The level of service orientation and entrepreneurial spirit of our employees keep LandAmerica competitive in the real estate transaction services industry. We look to hire individuals with a broad range of experience and skills, from seasoned title and escrow professionals to college graduates,” explained Angie Jenkins, Vice President – Employment Resources. LandAmerica employees are also described as independent thinkers, motivated to be a part of a service-minded culture. LandAmerica believes that, with the grounding of its Guiding Principles, which promote integrity, respect, continuous improvement, pursuit of ideas, goal clarity, open communication and responsible corporate citizenship, the company will further expand and its employees will be able to offer the most comprehensive services available to real estate buyers and sellers. With all SRC personnel in its new Henrico County location, LandAmerica has already taken a significant step toward achieving this goal.
Ted Chandler stated, “When we invest time and energy to build something of our own, especially a home or a business, the work is hard, the hours are long, but we do it because it needs to be done. We also know the pride and satisfaction that will come from owning something we helped create. That’s why we’ve done the work to become a unified company, and why it’s a great time to be at LandAmerica.”
